At Davies Veterinary Specialists, you'll join one of Europe's largest and most diverse small animal referral hospitals, working alongside a large, experienced nursing team and specialists across a wide range of disciplines.

And you don't need referral experience to join us.

What matters most is that you're a qualified RVN, passionate about nursing and keen to keep learning. We'll give you the training, support and structured induction you need to build your confidence in a referral environment.

You don't need referral experience

If you've been working in first opinion and are ready for your next challenge, don't let the word "referral" put you off.

You'll receive a comprehensive induction to help you make the transition into referral nursing, with plenty of opportunity to learn from experienced colleagues.

We also offer nurse experience days, so if you're curious about referral nursing but want to see what life at Davies is really like before making the move, you can get to know the hospital and the team for yourself.

The facilities include six wards, an intensive care unit, a dedicated cat ward, isolation facilities, five theatres and on-site diagnostic and laboratory services.

You're also close to Hitchin, a historic market town with independent shops, cafés, restaurants, markets and plenty of things to do. The surrounding countryside makes it easy to get outside and enjoy your time away from work too.

For commuters, Hitchin has strong rail connections towards London and Cambridge, while the area also has good road links via the A1(M) and M1. Davies itself has bus routes stopping close to the hospital.
