Summary of Role:

GLOBALFOUNDRIES Fab 8 in Malta, New York is seeking a talented and motivated Test Engineering Intern to support the Reliability Engineering team in advanced technology reliability characterization. The intern will contribute to wafer-level and package-level reliability testing, test automation, equipment operation, and data delivery while collaborating with FEOL, BEOL, and Product Reliability engineering teams.

Essential Responsibilities include:

• Support development and maintenance of test programs and test capabilities for new technology reliability assessments using C#, Python, C++, and related tools.

• Assist with wafer-level and package-level reliability testing, including HCI, BTI, TDDB, and EM.

• Execute electrical measurements using semi-automatic and fully automatic probers and support accurate, on-time data collection.

• Analyze test results, troubleshoot measurement or equipment issues, and document findings for engineering review.

• Support standardization, automation, equipment calibration, preventive maintenance, and laboratory organization.

• Collaborate with FEOL, BEOL, Product Reliability, and laboratory engineering teams to support technology development and qualification activities.

Other Responsibilities:

• Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs.

Required Qualifications:

• Education – At least a sophomore at time of application and actively pursuing a Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Microelectronics, or related field through an accredited degree program during the time of internship.

• Must have at least an overall 3.0 GPA and be in good academic standing.

• Language Fluency - English (Written & Verbal)

• Ability to work at least 40 hours per week during the internship.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior related internship or co-op experience

• Demonstrated prior leadership experience in the workplace, school projects, competitions, etc.

• Strong interest in leveraging AI tools and emerging technologies to enhance productivity, streamline workflows, and support effective decision-making.

• Project management skills, i.e., the ability to innovate and execute on solutions that matter; the ability to navigate ambiguity.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Strong planning & organizational skills

• Coursework or laboratory experience in semiconductor devices, circuits, reliability, or electrical characterization.

• Programming experience with Python, C#, C++, Visual Basic, or a related language; familiarity with probers or electrical test equipment is a plus.
