Designed for individuals who engage in suicidal, self-injurious, and high-risk behaviors, DBT has been shown to help keep multi-problem teens in outpatient care, decrease inpatient hospitalizations, and reduce depression, anxiety, borderline personality disorder symptoms, and self-injury and suicide attempts.

The research associate will collaborate on a grant project that aims to optimize DBT-A to incorporate cultural humility, antiracism and intersectionality principles, center voices of BIPOC youth through continuous collaboration, enhance engagement from families and communities, explore protective factors for suicide among BIPOC youth, and expand the capacity of Montefiore’s DBT-A Program to provide services to BIPOC youth.

The fellow will be provided with a full and comprehensive benefit package, including 20 vacation days, 9 hospital holidays, 12 sick days, and 5 conference days.
