Responsibilities

  • Provide overall project leadership for construction engineering activities, ensuring successful project delivery
  • Direct and oversee field inspection, material testing, and project documentation efforts
  • Lead coordination with clients, contractors, and project stakeholders to address construction challenges and maintain project quality

  • Monitor and manage project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation to meet project milestones and objectives
  • Maintain comprehensive and accurate job site records, including daily reports, meeting minutes, approved drawings, and pay requests
  • Ensure safety protocols are implemented and adhered to by all project participants
  • Mentor and support inspection teams to ensure effective field operations and documentation practices
  • Assist in designing and planning future projects during off-peak construction periods as required
  • Champion project quality, safety, and stakeholder satisfaction throughout all construction phases
  • Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or other related Engineering degree
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) required
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in construction inspection and civil/structural engineering, with senior engineering responsibilities
  • Previous experience with Illinois Tollway projects is required
  • Proven leadership in managing complex construction projects and multidisciplinary teams
  • Strong knowledge of contract management, construction planning, and documentation
  • Familiarity with e-Builder, ICORS, and Microsoft Office Suite systems
  • Ability to drive to and work at construction sites
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and decision-making skills
  • Willingness to complete required training in OSHA, CPR, and other mandated safety programs
  • Must be able to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
