Job Summary**

The Rig Welder TX will be responsible for performing various welding tasks on industrial construction projects, primarily utilizing specialized welding equipment mounted on a truck or rig. This role requires expertise in multiple welding processes and a strong commitment to safety and quality.

Job Responsibilities**

* Perform all types of welding, including but not limited to SMAW, FCAW, GTAW, and GMAW, on various materials such as carbon steel, stainless steel, and alloys, in accordance with project specifications and industry standards.
* Operate and maintain a welding rig, including all associated equipment like generators, air compressors, and welding machines.
* Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and welding procedure specifications (WPS).
* Fit, tack, and weld structural components, piping, and other assemblies.
* Inspect welded joints and test for defects using appropriate methods.
* Perform grinding, cutting, and beveling as required.
* Adhere strictly to all safety protocols, company policies, and OSHA regulations.
* Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used.
* Collaborate effectively with foremen, supervisors, and other crew members.
* Travel to various project sites across Texas as needed.

Job Qualifications**

* High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
* Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Rig Welder in an industrial or construction setting.
* Current and valid welding certifications (e.g., AWS D1.1, ASME Section IX) for relevant processes and materials.
* Proficiency in SMAW (stick), FCAW (flux-cored), GTAW (TIG), and GMAW (MIG) welding.
* Ability to read and interpret blueprints, welding symbols, and schematics.
* Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Commercial Driver's License (CDL) preferred.
* Must own and be proficient in operating a fully equipped welding rig.
* Strong understanding of safety procedures and practices in a construction environment.
* Ability to work in various weather conditions and challenging environments.
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
* Successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
* Physical ability to lift heavy objects, stand for extended periods, and perform manual labor.
