Sony Imageworks Vancouver is seeking Riggers!
Creates 3D character rigs and animation interface controls for skeletal motion systems and body/facial deformations. Successful candidates must be knowledgeable in writing utility scripts and core software tools in order to streamline the character set up process. Candidate is accountable for meeting schedules and show deadlines, participates in dailies, rounds and team reviews of work in progress. Interacts with production, supervisors and team/peers in order to problem solve and share information related to show/assigned tasks. Must be able to decipher as well as follow through on work in progress, dailies, briefings/notes and feedback. Successful candidates should be able to work efficiently as part of a team or independently on rigging projects.
Qualifications:
Knowledge of applicable software platforms including LINUX, UNIX, Maya, Mudbox, shell, and MEL scripting language, Python is a plus. Background or experience in fine art accompanied with a thorough understanding of physical motion, weight, balance and form highly desired. Most desired 2 year diploma or 1 year certificate however minimal requirement of 2-3 years of experience.
The anticipated base salary for an Associate position is $25.96 to $34.62/hr and for an Intermediate position is $36.06 - $48.08/hr. Benefits are per company policy: which include healthcare, tuition reimbursement, RRSP's, Sick and Vacation leave, standard increases as applicable. The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location of the position.
