RIVER RESTAURANT - Host

Are you friendly, outgoing, and passionate about creating a warm first impression? We’re looking for a welcoming and organized Host to join our front-of-house team in El Portal, CA. As the first point of contact for our guests, your role is key in setting the tone for an exceptional dining experience.

🕒 Position: Part-Time or Full-Time (Evenings, Weekends & Holidays Required)

Key Responsibilities

• Greet all guests with a friendly, upbeat attitude
• Manage the seating chart and waitlists using host tools or apps
• Answer phones, take reservations, and assist with to-go orders
• Coordinate with servers and management to ensure smooth guest flow
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the host stand and lobby area
• Assist in ensuring guest satisfaction and responding to special requests

Requirements

• Prior host or customer service experience preferred but not required
• Excellent communication skills and professional demeanor
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Positive attitude and team-oriented mindset
• Ability to stand for extended periods and remain calm during busy shifts
• Must have or be willing to obtain a California Food Handler Card
