Safety Advisor | Design SheetMetal VIC (Bayswater & Laverton)
Design Sheet Metal is seeking a proactive Safety Advisor to lead health, safety, and workers’ compensation across our Victorian operations, overseeing and supporting two key sites: Bayswater and Laverton.
You’ll partner with operational managers to build a strong safety culture, protect our people, and drive measurable improvements in workplace performance.
What You’ll Do:
- Lead and implement safety policies, procedures, and SOPs across multiple sites
- Build consistent, practical safety solutions that deliver results
- Conduct audits, inspections, and risk assessments to ensure compliance and continuous improvement
- Coach and advise operational leaders on safety best practice
- Prepare accurate, timely reports for management and corporate stakeholders
- Manage return-to-work programs and support injured workers effectively
- Stay ahead of WHS and workers’ compensation legislation, translating requirements into clear, actionable guidance
What Success Looks Like:
- Consistent safety solutions across all sites

- Legal and regulatory compliance across all operational areas
- Recognition as an industry leader in workplace safety
What You Bring:
- 5+ years in a safety role within manufacturing or engineering in Australia
- Tertiary-level safety qualifications (preferred)
- Experience in auditing, incident investigations, and training delivery
- Strong skills in risk assessment, procedural documentation, and workers’ compensation management
- High energy, hands-on approach, and excellent communication skills
- Ability to influence, build relationships, and work across all levels of the business
