Job Description:

The Salesforce Developer is responsible for the administration, configuration, customization, and ongoing development of DealerOn's Salesforce platform. This role combines hands-on Salesforce administration with custom application development to deliver scalable business solutions across Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Experience Cloud, Revenue Cloud, Billing, Marketing Cloud Account Engagement (Pardot), and other integrated technologies.

Working closely with business stakeholders and technical teams, the Salesforce Developer evaluates business processes, recommends technical solutions, configures declarative functionality, develops custom applications and integrations, and ensures the platform remains secure, scalable, and aligned with business objectives. The Developer collaborates across departments to translate business requirements into maintainable technical solutions, balancing declarative capabilities with custom development to deliver long-term value while minimizing technical debt. This is a mid-level remote position.

Essential Functions:

Salesforce Administration

  • Serve as a Salesforce Administrator responsible for the day-to-day health, maintenance, and optimization of the Salesforce platform.
  • Configure and maintain objects, fields, page layouts, record types, validation rules, flows, permission sets, profiles, sharing rules, queues, public groups, and custom metadata.
  • Manage user provisioning, deprovisioning, role hierarchy, permissions, and security while ensuring compliance with company policies.
  • Troubleshoot user issues, investigate system errors, and provide timely resolution for Salesforce-related support requests.
  • Maintain data quality through data governance, duplicate management, imports, exports, mass updates, and ongoing data cleanup initiatives.
  • Support release management activities including sandbox management, deployment validation, regression testing, and production releases.
  • Monitor Salesforce platform health, storage, integrations, and overall system performance.
  • Create and maintain reports, dashboards, and analytics to support business decision-making.
  • Evaluate new Salesforce releases and recommend features that improve business processes.
  • Maintain platform documentation including configuration changes, system architecture, and administrative procedures.


Salesforce Development

  • Design, develop, test, and deploy scalable Salesforce solutions using Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), Visualforce, SOQL, APIs, and other Salesforce technologies.
  • Build custom applications utilizing Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Experience Cloud, and Revenue Cloud.
  • Develop and maintain integrations between Salesforce and external SaaS applications using REST/SOAP APIs and data integration tools.
  • Utilize JavaScript, HTML5, CSS, Web Services, and Salesforce APIs to develop and enhance business applications.
  • Perform code reviews and ensure adherence to Salesforce development best practices and coding standards.
  • Analyze business requirements and determine the appropriate balance between declarative configuration and custom development.
  • Participate in project planning, technical design sessions, work estimates, testing, deployment, and post-production support.
  • Produce and maintain technical documentation for custom solutions and integrations.
  • Facilitate the testing and implementation of Salesforce and JIRA tools. Includes coding, configuration, maintenance, installation, testing, and debugging, as well as managing timelines


Required Experience

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Management Information Systems, or related field or equivalent experience.
  • Certifications as a Salesforce Platform Developer I and Salesforce Administrator.
  • 5+ years of Salesforce Admin and Development roles utilizing Flows, Visualforce, APEX, APIs, and data integration tools.
  • Strong ability to build partnerships and work collaboratively with stakeholders and leadership to define and meet shared objectives.
  • Partner with stakeholders to gather requirements, identify opportunities for automation, and deliver scalable Salesforce solutions.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks that change and manage unexpected requests.
  • Action oriented with a high sense of urgency, energy, and enthusiasm.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to communicate with stakeholders at multiple levels with ease, clarity, and transparency: one-to-one, small group, and large audiences.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve business processes and maximize Salesforce capabilities.
  • Demonstrate a high degree of ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Preferred Experience/Skills

  • Knowledge of Internet and Security technologies to integrate data between systems and applications.
  • Experience in developing applications with knowledge of Salesforce App Cloud, Lightning, and Mobile Application Platforms.
  • Experience using and configuring JIRA and connection to Salesforce.
  • Certification as a Salesforce Certified Platform App Builder and/or Salesforce Platform Developer II.
  • Customer service mindset.
  • Ability to prioritize business needs based on importance, urgency, or impact.
  • Relates openly and comfortably with diverse groups of people.
  • Excellent time management skills.

This position is open to US residents only.

The targeted salary range for this position is $77,500 - $114,900.

The posted salary range for this position may be adjusted based on job-related factors permitted by law, such as experience and training; internal pay equity; licensure and certifications; market factors; departmental budgets; and responsibility.
