SAP R2R Functional Consultant

Job Description:

Develops or modifies program logic for new applications or software which may include coding, testing, debugging, documenting, implementing and maintaining software applications. Analyzes requirements, and maintains, tests and integrates application components. Programmer Analyst roles should be assigned to this job family.

Job Requirements:

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
• 8+ years of SAP FI/CO experience including support and project delivery, with hands-on S/4HANA Finance experience and exposure to multi-country operations.
• Experience supporting China SAP localization including Golden Tax, VAT invoicing processes, statutory reporting requirements, banking integrations and local compliance requirements.
• Active participation in at least one S/4HANA implementation, rollout, conversion, or major enhancement programme.
• Strong knowledge of general ledger, financial close, asset accounting, accounts payable and receivable integration, bank accounting, intercompany accounting, cost centre accounting, profit centre accounting, internal orders, allocations, and financial reporting.
• Good understanding of SAP integration with MM, SD, procurement, manufacturing, tax, banking, and external applications.
• Experience in validating functional specifications, configuration documentation, process flows, test scripts, defect analysis, cutover plans, and support documentation.
• Experience coordinating Managed Service Provider (MSP), including incident and enhancement governance, prioritization, escalation and delivery review.
• Professional fluency in Mandarin and English, with strong written and verbal communication in both languages.
• Ability to work independently in Shanghai while collaborating effectively across APAC & EMEA time zones when business needs require it.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with China localization including taxes, statutory reporting, banking integrations.
• Experience in a complex, multi-entity, multi-country SAP environment, preferably within medical devices, life sciences, manufacturing, or a regulated industry.
• SAP S/4HANA certification in Financial Accounting
• Exposure to Group Reporting, Central Finance, SAP Analytics Cloud, SAP BTP / Integration Suite, SAP MDG, tax engines, e-invoicing, or invoice automation solutions.
• Working knowledge of SOX controls, audit readiness, GxP validation, or structured IT change-control processes.
• Experience coordinating cross-functional delivery & mentoring MSP team.
