We are seeking a meticulous and organized Roster Scheduler to join our team. Job Type: This is a full-time (40 hours) permanent position from Monday to Friday
Key Responsibilities:
- Schedule Creation: Develop and maintain employee work schedules, ensuring adequate coverage for all shifts and operational needs.
- Staff Coordination: Collaborate with Client Service Managers to understand staffing requirements and address scheduling issues or conflicts.
- Compliance: Ensure schedules comply with employment legislation e.g. working hours, company policies, and WorkSafe NZ.
- Communication: Using our system CONNECT IT system to build rosters, notify employees of their schedules, any changes, and address any scheduling concerns promptly.
- Data Management: Maintain accurate records of schedules, time off requests, and shift swaps.
- Problem Solving: Address and resolve scheduling conflicts, last-minute changes, and employee availability issues.
- Customer Service: Remains calm and professional at all times, excellent customer service skills especially when dealing with challenges of rosters with service users or staff.
- Reporting: Generate reports on scheduling metrics, such as overtime, staffing levels, and compliance.
- System Management: Utilize scheduling software to create and manage rosters effectively.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve scheduling processes and implement best practices.
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in business administration, human resources, or a related field is a plus.
- Experience: Proven experience in a scheduling or administrative role, preferably in a similar industry.
Skills:
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Proficiency in scheduling software and MS Office Suite.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
- Detail-oriented with a problem-solving mindset.
- Knowledge: Familiarity with employment working hours law, company policies, and WorkSafe NZ related to working hours.
Working Conditions: This position requires working in an office setting with occasional remote work options.
Salary: Commensurate with experience and qualifications.
