School Age Educator

Position Summary

We are seeking a caring, energetic, and dependable School Age Educator to join our team. This position is responsible for providing a safe, engaging, and enriching environment for children ages 5–14 in our School Age program. The ideal candidate enjoys building positive relationships with children, supports social-emotional development, and creates fun, hands-on learning experiences that encourage creativity, teamwork, and independence.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and ensure the safety and well-being of school-age children at all times.
• Foster a welcoming, inclusive, and respectful classroom environment.
• Support children's social, emotional, and behavioral development using positive guidance techniques.
• Assist children with homework as needed.
• Maintain accurate attendance and follow all sign-in/sign-out procedures.
• Communicate professionally with families regarding children's daily experiences.
• Work collaboratively with fellow educators and leadership to provide high-quality programming.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and engaging classroom environment.
• Follow all licensing regulations, health and safety procedures, and program policies.
• Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and professional development opportunities.
• Assist with field trips, special events, and school vacation programming as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Experience working with school-age children in an educational, recreational, or childcare setting preferred.
• Dependable, organized, and flexible.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to actively supervise children indoors and outdoors.
• Bend, kneel, sit on the floor, and participate in children's activities.
• Stand and walk for extended periods.

Schedule

• Monday–Friday split shift 6:30-9:30/1:30-5:30 on school days/ 35 hours guaranteed
• Straight shift/8 hours a day/40 hours a week on no school days such as summer or school closure days
