Seasonal Orchard Assistants 2026/2027

About the role

Our team of Seasonal Orchard Assistants help our management team to manage the harvesting and transportation of fruit to the packhouse. The earliest positions start in early/mid November with the final team members joining us in mid/late December. Work goes through until the completion of the cherry export season which is generally late January/early February.

This is a great role offering a variety of duties from setting up the orchard blocks before a harvest crew enters, assigning trees to the harvest crews, weighing buckets, field quality checks, checking trees, loading trailers, clearing blocks after harvest crews have been through, assisting with irrigation and transporting fruit to and from the packhouse.

• Work generally starts at 6.00am and daily hours are generally 7 - 9.5 hours although wet weather and crop maturity can interrupt work

• We guarantee a minimum of 32 hours per week.

• We offer seasonal fixed term employment agreements.

• We have a range of accommodation on the orchard.

• It is a great team environment.

• Payment is by hourly rate.

• If you work until the end of the export cherry harvest season, we pay an End of Season Bonus.

Job Requirements

• Excellent communication skills

• Excellent attention to detail

• Good level of fitness

• Experience with quad bikes, 4 WD's or motorbikes, reversing trailers and staff supervision would be an advantage

• You enjoy working outdoors

• You enjoy working as part of a team

• You're self-motivated

• You have a positive can-do attitude
