Job Description

As a Security Guard - Full Time - 1st Shift in Rockford, IL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. As an Access Control Officer at a logistics and distribution location, you will help maintain a secure environment by monitoring entry points, verifying access credentials, and documenting visitor and vehicle activity. You will provide exceptional customer service, communicate professionally with employees and guests, and support smooth operations through teamwork and integrity. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, drivers, and contractors by carrying out access-control procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities at a logistics and distribution location.
• Monitor entry and exit points, verify credentials and authorization, issue visitor or contractor access documentation, and maintain accurate access-related records.
• Help to deter unauthorized access by observing vehicle, pedestrian, and delivery activity at gates, docks, and other designated entry points.
• Respond to incidents, access-control concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; communicate with site contacts and emergency responders as directed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of designated access points, the business, and perimeter, reporting unusual conditions and potential security-related concerns.

Minimum Requirements:

• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
