Job Description

As a Security Officer Access Control Systems in University Park, IL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. As an Access Control Officer at a logistics and distribution location, you will help manage entry points, verify credentials, monitor access activity, and support a welcoming environment for employees, visitors, and drivers. You will use computer or tablet systems to document incidents and communicate important information. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, drivers, and delivery personnel by carrying out site-specific access-control procedures, policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Monitor and control access points for a logistics and distribution location, verifying credentials, maintaining visitor and contractor records, and directing authorized personnel to designated areas.
• Screen incoming and outgoing vehicles, deliveries, and shipments in accordance with site procedures, documenting required information and reporting irregularities to appropriate personnel.
• Respond to incidents, access-control concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, contacting site management and/or emergency services as directed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of access points, loading docks, parking areas, and the business perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.

Minimum Requirements:

• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
