Job Description

As a Security Officer Full Time Unarmed Patrol Driver in Suffolk, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Unarmed Security Officer supporting a government transportation location, you will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, respond to alarms, and provide professional customer service. This primarily driving role requires a valid driver’s license and offers the opportunity to use technology while supporting daily operations. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and contractors while carrying out site-specific procedures, access-control practices, and emergency response activities at a transportation-related government location.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned facilities, parking areas, roadways, and perimeter areas to help identify and report unusual conditions or unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify credentials as directed, and maintain accurate logs and incident documentation.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate personnel and public emergency services when needed.
• Report maintenance concerns, traffic hazards, suspicious activity, and other security-related issues according to site procedures and Allied Universal reporting requirements.

Minimum Requirements:

• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet preferred.
• Alarm panel experience preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
