Job Description

As a Security Officer Full Time Patrol Driver in Altavista, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more. As an Unarmed Security Officer at a healthcare location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, support access control, and provide exceptional customer service and communication. This driving position requires a valid driver’s license in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and delivery personnel at a healthcare and laboratory location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of laboratory, office, parking, entry, and perimeter areas to help identify and report unusual activity, hazards, or access concerns.
• Monitor access points and support visitor, contractor, and delivery check-in processes in accordance with site requirements, maintaining professional communication and accurate documentation.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, medical events, and other critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established site procedures and contacting appropriate personnel and/or emergency services as needed.
• Complete activity logs, incident reports, and shift communications while maintaining confidentiality regarding personnel, research, and business operations.

Minimum Requirements:

• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Access control/badge experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
