Bilingual Security Guard (Full-Time)

Important Note

Candidates must have continuously resided in Canada for a minimum of five (5) years and be eligible to obtain a Government of Canada Reliability Security Clearance.

Position Overview

Allied Universal is seeking professional, reliable, and customer-focused Bilingual Security Guards to join our team in the Vancouver location. This position supports a government office environment and is ideal for individuals with strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and secure workplace.

The successful candidate will be responsible for access control, visitor management, security monitoring, emergency response coordination, and ensuring compliance with site-specific security protocols.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and control site access, including badges, credentials, key control, and access records.
• Conduct routine patrols, inspections, and security checks, ensuring compliance with site policies and Post Orders.
• Oversee daily security operations and ensure Security Professionals perform their duties according to site requirements.
• Monitor CCTV, fire, and building management systems and respond appropriately to security or emergency situations.
• Respond to, document, and escalate security incidents, suspicious activity, policy violations, and emergency calls.
• Act as a command-and-control point during emergencies and coordinate with appropriate response personnel/agencies.
• Maintain accurate daily activity logs, shift reports, incident reports, and security documentation.
• Review reports prior to submission to site management/client.
• Provide professional customer service and communication to employees, visitors, clients, and stakeholders.
• Assist with fire safety, emergency preparedness, and equipment orientation.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the Site Supervisor or Allied Universal leadership.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident (required for security clearance eligibility).
• Fluent in both English and French (spoken and written).
• Minimum of five (5) years of continuous residency in Canada.
• Minimum one (1) year of security experience.
• Previous experience as an Access Control Officer, Controller, Security Coordinator, or Identification Office Personnel is preferred.
• Valid Provincial Security Guard Licence.
• Valid First Aid and CPR Certification.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency with computer-based security systems and reporting tools.

Physical and Mental Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods.
• Frequent use of hands and arms while operating security systems and equipment.
• Ability to communicate clearly in person, by telephone, and via radio.
• Ability to read and interpret reports, correspondence, and computer screens.
• Valid driver's licence and ability to operate a motor vehicle, if required.
• Ability to occasionally lift and move objects weighing up to 25 lbs (11 kg).
• Ability to climb stairs and navigate client facilities as required.
• Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions during emergencies.
