Senior Accountant
Leading television company is looking to bring on Senior Accountants to join their growing accounting department.
The Senior Accountant will process day to day transactions related to the month end close process; analyze financial data with field to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial statements.
The Senior Accountant will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following
• Report status of day to day tasks
• Identify issues, propose solutions and review them with manager
• Maintain monthly closing checklist
• Process month end journal entries in accordance with policy and procedures
• Review departmental reports and financial statements
• Perform bank reconciliations
• Perform balance sheet account reconciliation/analysis (excl sub-ledger reconciliations) in accordance with policy and procedures
• Perform select income statement reconciliation/analysis in accordance with policy and procedures
• Review sub-ledger reconciliations from P2P, OTC and Fixed Assets
• Ensure audit proof and accurate documentation is maintained for all prepared materials
• Generate reports to begin forecasting process
• Frequent communication with Divisions/field
• Take responsibility for keeping up to date on company policy and process changes
• Identify continuous improvement opportunities
• Maintain proper documentation of materials prepared (journal entries and account reconciliations)
• Maintain continuous communication with the field
• Close GL for respective entities with accuracy and timely manner
• Ensure all required financials statements and output is up to date and accurate
• Ensure all reports are readily available for the divisions in a timely manner
• Cross Functional Interactions
• Movement between Finance Operations groups and outside Finance Operations
• Cost Improvement Methodology
Qualifications
• BS/BA degree in finance or accounting
• 3-5 years of Accounting experience
• Strong PC skills with a moderate knowledge of Word/Excel/PowerPoint
• Experience using Oracle
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Superior planning, organizational and prioritizing skills
• Strong analytical and problem solving abilities
• Strong customer service orientation
• Team player who is reliable and respects others
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment, handling multiple tasks)
• Displays good email etiquette and telephone manners
