Senior AML Specialist, Name Screening & Travel Rule

Position Overview

Key Responsibilities

• Review and disposition screening alerts relating to sanctions, PEPs, adverse media, customers, counterparties and associated parties.
• Investigate potential matches, document clear rationale, and escalate higher-risk or complex cases where required.
• Support Travel Rule operations by reviewing originator and beneficiary information, resolving data discrepancies, failed transmissions and other exceptions.
• Liaise with internal teams and counterparty VASPs to resolve screening and Travel Rule issues.
• Monitor relevant sanctions and Travel Rule regulatory developments across the globe and support timely operational implementation.
• Maintain accurate case records and support audits, regulatory enquiries and internal reviews.
• Identify recurring false positives, exception trends and process gaps, and contribute to rule tuning, workflow improvements, automation and AI initiatives.
• Work closely with internal AML Operations and Compliance teams on related escalations.

Requirements

• 3+ years of relevant AML Operations experience within financial services, fintech, payments or the virtual asset industry.
• Hands-on experience in name screening, sanctions compliance and/or Travel Rule systems and operations
• Good understanding of sanctions frameworks, PEP and adverse media screening, and FATF Travel Rule requirements.
• Good understanding of virtual asset transactions, blockchain basics and associated AML/CFT risks.
• Strong analytical, documentation and case-handling skills.
• Professional certifications such as CAMS, ICA or equivalent are advantageous.

• Strong judgement and attention to detail, with the ability to make clear and defensible screening decisions.
• Comfortable managing high-volume operational queues and prioritising time-sensitive cases.
• Proactive in identifying gaps and improving processes, including through automation and AI.
• Strong communicator with an interest in crypto, digital assets and financial crime prevention.
