Senior Category Manager – Wholesale & Asset Auctions - English (UAE)

🎬 The Role

As the Senior Category Manager for Wholesale & Asset Auctions, you will pioneer and scale the digital auction vertical across the UAE market. You will leverage your deep subject-matter expertise and existing regional network—spanning government entities, semi-government liquidation bodies, auto auctions, and wholesale asset liquidators—to lead partner acquisition, onboarding, and ongoing seller success. This role requires an entrepreneurial leader who can manage end-to-end marketplace operations, drive continuous category growth, foster community building, and maintain full commercial accountability by owning category KPIs and the P&L.

👤 The Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary subject-matter expert with deep knowledge of the UAE auction and wholesale asset landscape, including government/police asset sales, fleet liquidations, real estate/equipment auctions, surplus stock, and B2B wholesale dynamics.

• Identify, map out, and execute partner acquisition and onboarding for key auction authorities, government contractors (e.g., Emirates Auction, Dubai Police auction partners), asset liquidation firms, salvage yards, and wholesale liquidators in the UAE.

• Fuel seller success by coaching traditional auctioneers, government partners, and wholesale liquidators on bringing live bidding experiences online, optimizing reserve pricing strategies, live video cataloging, and high-energy live host pacing.

• Manage day-to-day marketplace operations and serve as a trusted partner for your seller portfolio, working hand-in-hand with internal product, legal, and compliance teams to ensure seamless auction workflows and buyer verification.

• Oversee category growth and community building initiatives by orchestrating featured live auction events, high-value asset bidding shows, wholesale clearance drives, and targeted marketing campaigns for institutional and retail bidders.

• Maintain active community and industry presence, attending major regional asset sales, commercial equipment showcases, and keeping a pulse on the UAE re-commerce and auction eco-system.

• Take complete business ownership of the vertical by measuring performance, owning category KPIs and the P&L, and iterating on operational strategies.

🎓 The Skills & Competencies

• Full professional fluency in English — Arabic fluency is preferred (Strong Arabic is highly advantageous for government/auction entity interactions).

• 3+ years of experience in commercial auctions, wholesale liquidations, asset management, or B2B re-commerce in the UAE market.

• Comprehensive industry literacy, understanding auction laws, valuation methodologies, reserve pricing, bidding mechanics, and key government/institutional stakeholders.

• Established, warm relationships with commercial auction houses, government asset liquidation departments, corporate fleet owners, or major salvage/wholesale entities in the UAE.

• Strong project management skills with the ability to manage complex sales cycles and regulatory operational requirements.
