Senior Civil Designer (12D)

• Prepare high-quality, detailed designs, drawings, and cost estimates for civil engineering projects (earthwork, roadworks, stormwater drainage, traffic management, water/sewage reticulation, etc.), adhering to relevant standards and the quality manual.

• Provide expert advice to clients on development requirements, ensuring compliance with legislation and conditions.

• Investigate engineering problems and develop effective solutions and alternatives.

• Ensure all designs meet prescribed standards, conditions, and quality assurance procedures within allocated timeframes and budgets.

• Continuously improving internal design systems and processes.

• Successfully prioritise and manage workload to meet project deadlines.

• Collaborate effectively with engineering, drafting, and detailing personnel from project initiation to construction completion.

• Coordinate other essential services (e.g. electrical, telecommunications) as required.

• Plan and implement design aspects of projects.

• Examine documents and drawings for completeness and accuracy before client submission.

• Maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.

• Participate in discussions on work system improvements, including leveraging technology for information sharing, management, and quality control. 

• Actively engage in reviewing work standards and monitoring processes, initiating recommendations for improvement.
