Senior Demand Planning Specialist

In this role, a typical day will include:

• Align Commercial and Supply Chain plans, translating business priorities and market insights into an executable demand and supply plan.
• Lead the monthly Demand Review with key stakeholders, ensuring alignment on assumptions, risks, opportunities, and forecast changes.
• Own the demand forecast submission for all affiliates and franchises within scope, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timely submission.
• Maintain and monitor master data, ensuring data quality and supporting reliable planning processes.
• Define the NPL strategy and planning approach, coordinating with cross-functional teams to support successful new product launches.
• Drive financial reconciliation, ensuring alignment between the operational demand plan and financial expectations.
• Proactively manage obsolescence risk by monitoring inventory exposure, identifying risks early, and implementing mitigation actions with relevant stakeholders to minimize write-offs and excess inventory.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO ALCON:

• Required Qualifications
  • Relevant experience in Demand Planning, Supply Chain Planning, S&OP/IBP, or a related planning function, ideally within a complex, international, or matrix organization.
  • Strong understanding of demand forecasting and planning processes, including forecast analysis, assumptions management, risks and opportunities, and performance monitoring.
  • Ability to lead meeting with key leaders from different departments in a muti cultural environnement.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate large amounts of data and market information into clear insights and actionable recommendations.
  • Good understanding of inventory management, including excess and obsolete inventory risks, inventory optimization, and proactive mitigation actions.
  • Experience supporting New Product Launches (NPL), including launch forecasting, ramp-up assumptions, lifecycle management, and coordination with Commercial and Supply Chain teams.
  • Strong attention to data quality and master data integrity, with an understanding of their impact on planning performance.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to challenge assumptions constructively and drive decisions.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and operate effectively in a fast-paced and changing environment.
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
• Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in the medical device, pharmaceutical, healthcare, FMCG, or another complex multinational environment.
  • Experience working with planning systems and ERP tools such as SAP, APO/IBP, Kinaxis, or equivalent.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and data visualization/analytics tools, such as Power BI.
  • Experience working across multiple countries, affiliates, franchises, or business units.
  • Knowledge of product lifecycle management, particularly launch, phase-in/phase-out, discontinuation, and obsolescence management.
  • Additional languages would be considered an advantage. If relevant for the position, Turkish language skills could be listed as a nice-to-have rather than a requirement.

  • Change agility: Comfortable operating in an evolving organization, adapting processes while ensuring business continuity.
  • Turkish language is a nice to have.
