Background
Sever Pharma Solutions has experienced significant growth and expansion in recent years. Ten years ago, we had approximately 150 employees; today, we are nearly 300 employees in Malmö alone. During this period, we have welcomed many new colleagues and made substantial investments in our facilities and equipment.
Rapid growth always brings organizational challenges. There is still considerable opportunity to further develop and improve our processes and ways of working. We are looking for someone with the knowledge, experience, and drive to manage both the current situation and the future state, helping us continue our journey of continuous improvement.
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced, curious, and energetic scientist to join our Development Department. In this role, you will contribute to formulation and process development for polymer-based pharmaceuticals and aseptic fill and finish, working across the full development lifecycle—from early concept and feasibility studies to scale-up, technology transfer, and commercial manufacturing readiness.
You will be part of a highly skilled, multidisciplinary team of scientists and will report to the Director of Development. The work is project-based and includes activities in both GMP and non-GMP environments.
Key Responsibilities
· Lead and contribute to formulation and process development activities for polymer-based pharmaceutical and aseptic fill and finish products.
· Develop, optimize, and transfer manufacturing processes from early development through commercial-scale readiness.
· Apply strong scientific judgment to understand, evaluate, and solve complex technical challenges.
· Drive technical maturity across product development phases in collaboration with cross-functional project teams.
· Plan, execute, interpret, and document experimental work with high scientific and quality standards.
· Support development work in both GMP and non-GMP settings, ensuring appropriate documentation and compliance.
· Contribute to scientific strategy, knowledge building, and decision-making within development projects.
Your Profile
You are a scientifically driven professional with a strong interest in understanding the underlying physico-chemical phenomena that influence product and process performance. You enjoy combining hands-on development work with structured analysis, clear documentation, and collaboration across disciplines.
You bring proven experience in polymer processing, such as extrusion processes, injection molding processes, or related manufacturing technologies. Experience with modelling or mathematical simulation is considered valuable, but is not a strict requirement.
Qualifications and Experience
· PhD in materials science, polymer science, chemical engineering, pharmacy, or another relevant discipline, combined with at least 8 years of industrial or post-doctoral experience; or
· MSc in a relevant discipline combined with at least 10 years of highly relevant experience.
· Demonstrated experience in polymer processing and product/process development.
· Proven ability to lead technical workstreams or technical teams and drive development progress.
· Strong scientific documentation skills and the ability to communicate complex technical information clearly.
· Professional proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
Meritorious Experience
· Experience from the pharmaceutical or medical device industry.
· Experience working in GMP-regulated development or manufacturing environments.
· Experience with physical-mathematical modelling, simulation, or mechanistic process understanding.
Why Join Us?
This is an opportunity to take a central scientific role in the development of advanced polymer-based pharmaceutical products. You will work in a collaborative, high-competence environment where your technical leadership, curiosity, and scientific rigor will directly contribute to the successful progression of products through development and manufacturing scale-up.
Trade Union Representation
Our salaried employees are represented by two local trade unions: Unionen and Akademikerna.
Apply
If you are an experienced scientist who thrives in technically challenging development work and wants to contribute to the advancement of polymer-based pharmaceutical products, we would be pleased to hear from you. Please submit your application by 16 August 2026.
We look forward to your application!
