Location: New York, NY

Duration: 12 months

All About Candidate:

- Bachelor Degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience with exposure to software architecture theories and concepts.

- Be able to apply software engineering practices to build infrastructure as code (IaaS) using configuration management software like Chef.

- Analyze business requirements to identify where they can integrate new hardware, operating systems, or connectivity solutions.

- Recommend alternative technologies or improvements to enhance information systems to support organizational goals.

- Leads the design and review processes for new systems. Develop and document the proposed technical and system design for the integration and implementation of any new or existing features.

- Strong written and oral communication skills, and the ability to effectively communicate with technical and non-technical audiences

Core skills:

- Experience with web technologies, web applications deployment and building enterprise architecture roadmaps.

- Experience designing, integrating and managing complex infrastructure solutions

- Knowledge of client-server networking and database management

- Ability to provide technical system solutions, determine overall design direction and provide hardware recommendations for complex technical issues

- Experience planning and developing support processes and adhering to best practices

- Strong written and oral communication skills, and the ability to effectively communicate with technical and non-technical audiences

- Ability to quickly comprehend the functions and capabilities of new technologies

Technical Skills:

- Manage infrastructure with tools like Ansible, Saltstack, Puppet, Terraform, Chef, etc.

- Worked with Git/GitHub, Jenkins/Hudson and/or other build and continuous integration systems.

- Built systems on AWS, OpenStack and/or other IaaS environments.

- Good understanding of web /application servers (Apache httpd, JBOSS & Tomcat) setup, configuration & architecture.

- Experience working with JAVA / J2EE based web-applications. Knowledge on Spring & Hibernate framework is a plus.

- Experience working on Agile methods – Scrum or Kanban.

Notes:

Domain knowledge is not critical but it’s very fast paced environment

Architect level position:

Client is looking for a systems enterprise architect

Minimum 10 years of experience required

3-4 years in software engineering

Focus will be on fastening on cloud side.

Top 3 skills:

- Infrastructure as a code (ansible, salt stack, puppet, terraform, chef, github, etc.). Top preference is chef, ansible and github.

- Java j2ee background

- Ui development frameworks, such as angularjs, reactjs
