Senior DevOps Engineer

The role

As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you will serve as a key technical anchor, driving our infrastructure strategy and delivering high-impact engineering solutions that align with our business goals.. Your primary objective will be building, scaling, and automating cloud infrastructure while supporting our developer teams with reliable continuous integration and delivery capabilities. We seek a professional who bridges conventional operations with next-generation paradigms, possessing a strong operational understanding of AI workflows, focus on business goals, and the capacity to eliminate infrastructure silos.

At Better Collective, we develop sports-focused web applications and digital products. An appreciation for sports business logic helps contextualize backlog priorities, though our core focus remains absolute technical excellence across flagship products like BolaVIP, Futbin, Action Network, SitesDeApostas, ScoresAndOdds, BettingExpert, HLTV, and RotoGrinders.

Job responsibilities

• AWS Infrastructure: Manage, secure, and scale AWS cloud environments.

• Infrastructure as Code: Provision infrastructure using Terraform and handle configuration via Ansible.

• Containers: Deploy and manage applications using Docker on AWS ECS or AWS EKS.

• Serverless & Edge: Build and debug serverless applications using AWS Lambda and Cloudflare Workers.

• CI/CD Pipelines: Set up and maintain automated pipelines exclusively via GitHub Actions.

• Traffic & CDNs: Configure content delivery, caching, and routing via Cloudflare and AWS CloudFront.

• Monitoring & Observability: Maintain infrastructure health tracking and alerts using Checkmk, Prometheus, or Grafana.

• Networking: Manage firewalls, VPCs, and network routing.

• App Support: Troubleshoot and debug environment issues for Node.js, PHP, and WordPress applications.

Technical stack

• Cloud & Orchestration: AWS, AWS EC2, Docker, AWS ECS, AWS EKS. (ArgoCD is a plus)

• IaC & Automation: Terraform, Ansible.

• Serverless: AWS Lambda, Cloudflare Workers

• CDN & Networking: Cloudflare, AWS CloudFront, Network Routing, Firewalls, VPC

• CI/CD & Git: GitHub Actions, Git, Gitflow

• Databases: MySQL (Core), PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, MongoDB, Redis, Elasticsearch

• Monitoring: Checkmk, Prometheus, Grafana

• Web Servers: Nginx, Apache, AWS LoadBalancers

• Languages: Node.js, PHP (WordPress ecosystem), and scripting languages (Bash, Python, etc.)

Job requirements

• Experience: 5+ years in SRE, Platform Engineering, or DevOps managing complex AWS setups.

• AI: Practical understanding of AI concepts, workflows, and tools to support modern Platform and engineering operations.

• Mindset: Strongly focused on KPIs, project deadlines, and operational efficiency.

• OS Admin: Expert-level knowledge of Linux administration (Ubuntu and Debian).

• Troubleshooting: Strong diagnostic skills for live Node.js and PHP/WordPress application issues.
