What the day will look like Develop Aon products by implementing, testing, debugging, analysing, reviewing and all other aspects of the software development lifecycle. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including analysts, developers, testers, devops and project managers by providing technical expertise and guidance. Contribute to the design & architecture of digital solutions and recommending the most suitable technologies and frameworks. Drive the implementation and integration of digital solutions, ensuring alignment with industry standards, best practices, and security protocols. Collaborate with technical analysts to update application design and API documentation. Contribute to architecture, process and quality improvement discussions. Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and advancements in digital technologies, identifying opportunities for innovation and improvement within the organization's digital ecosystem. Mentor and coach team members, fostering a culture of learning and growth, and promoting technical excellence and innovation. Support production deployments. Engage in ongoing professional development. Advocate the usage of AI tools to improve software delivery throughput and quality. Skills and experience that will lead to success Must Have: Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Proven experience as a technical lead or a similar senior role in the technology industry - minimum 8 years of experience in IT industry. Strong knowledge of digital technologies, including web development, cloud computing, APIs, databases. Proficiency in programming languages, design pattern frameworks & scripting (e.g. NET Core 8-10 (LTS), MSSQL). Experience in modern web UI JS framework (e.g. Angular). Familiarity with Agile methodologies and project management tools (e.g. JIRA, Confluence). CI/CD cloud deployment experience (e.g. Azure DevOps Pipelines). Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to evaluate complex technical challenges and propose effective solutions. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders. Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and manage numerous projects simultaneously. Adaptability and open to new technology as part of application technical stack evolution. Nice To Have: Distributed message queue (e.g. Active MQ) Security & Authentication framework awareness (e.g. OAuth2, OKTA) Exposure to insurance (eg. placement, policy, claims, underwriting, billing) or the broader financial services systems. Understanding of cybersecurity, technology risk, and compliance requirements in regulated environments (e.g. insurance or financial services). Experience working in virtual, distributed teams across multiple countries, using modern collaboration and video‑conferencing tools.
