Senior GIS Data Analyst

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior GIS Data Analyst based in the United States.

This is a fully remote opportunity for an experienced GIS professional supporting the planning, design, construction, and maintenance of fiber and HFC network infrastructure.
The role focuses on creating, analyzing, maintaining, and improving geospatial data and digital mapping products used across the organization.
You will work extensively with ESRI technologies, ArcGIS Pro, ArcFM, geodatabases, spatial datasets, and network asset information.
The position combines technical GIS expertise with research, data quality, cartography, and cross-functional collaboration.
You will support internal stakeholders with complex mapping requests while helping ensure geospatial inventories remain accurate and aligned with GIS best practices.
The role also provides opportunities to contribute to GIS standards, technical projects, data modeling, and infrastructure planning initiatives.

• Support fiber optic and HFC network mapping activities using ArcGIS and ArcFM.

• Develop, maintain, and improve GIS datasets, geodatabases, applications, and related spatial data infrastructure.

• Collect, attribute, edit, clean, organize, and maintain spatial data and create digital and hard-copy map products.

• Update parcel information using ArcGIS Pro, ArcMap, REGRID, and coordinate geometry techniques.

• Provide advanced technical support for GIS-related projects, applications, and data requests.

• Research county, state, and federal records and interpret maps, aerial imagery, construction as-builts, and other source documents to gather and validate spatial information.

• Support the development of GIS specifications and standards for engineering, construction, maintenance, and operation of fiber and HFC routes.

• Manage geospatial inventories of fiber and HFC infrastructure, including route assets, schematics, capacities, and operational status.

• Apply knowledge of coordinate systems and geodetic projections when performing spatial analysis and related calculations.

• Collaborate with Legal, Market Expansion, design teams, engineering groups, and other internal stakeholders to fulfill GIS mapping and data requests.

• Ensure fiber infrastructure geospatial inventories are accurate, consistent, well maintained, and aligned with established GIS best practices.

• Assist with GIS data and mapping requirements associated with regulatory, state, and federal initiatives, including map updates and challenge processes.

• Manage competing priorities, respond to changing requirements, and deliver accurate work within expected timelines.

• Provide responsive and professional internal customer support while communicating technical information clearly across different organizational levels.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree with a focus on GIS or a related discipline.

• At least 5 years of professional experience working with ESRI platforms, including ArcGIS and ArcFM, to access, manage, implement, and analyze spatial data.

• Strong cartographic skills and demonstrated experience creating GIS products for digital and print presentation using ArcGIS Pro.

• Experience producing or updating overlay maps showing boundaries, utility locations, topographic features, and other infrastructure information across different scales and coordinate systems.

• Strong understanding of GIS data maintenance, spatial analysis, geodatabases, and relational database concepts.

• Familiarity with ArcGIS Server, ArcGIS Online, and ArcFM.

• Ability to interpret maps, aerial photographs, construction documentation, and other records to identify and validate spatial information.

• Understanding of outside plant design and construction techniques is desirable.

• Experience with Python and SQL is a plus.

• Experience with MyWorld, AutoCAD, or additional ArcFM functionality is beneficial.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate complex GIS and data issues.

• Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to data accuracy and quality.

• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under changing requirements and deadlines.
