Schedule: Night Shift | Sunday – Friday, 10:00 PM – 6:00 AM

Compensation: $29.87 - $41.81 per hour, +f $2.00/hr shift differential

Are you an experienced millwright or precision mechanical specialist tired of constant travel, seasonal layoffs, and working out in the elements? Avery Dennison is looking for a Senior Industrial Millwright / Mechanical Technician to act as a primary technical resource at our clean, climate-controlled manufacturing facility in Greenfield.

In this high-impact role, you won't just be handling basic maintenance routines—you will drive equipment reliability, lead complex mechanical rebuilds, troubleshoot drive systems, and mentor shift technicians in precision maintenance.-----Why Choose Avery Dennison?

Key Responsibilities

• Precision Mechanical Work: Execute shaft-to-shaft alignments, timing and V-belt tensioning, and the teardown, rework, and assembly of complex gear reducers, bearings, and fasteners.

• Equipment Reliability: Establish mechanical inspection and preventive maintenance routes to maximize plant uptime.

• Diagnostic & Repair: Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair major and minor mechanical drive system failures across process, utility, and manufacturing equipment.

• Technical Mentorship: Act as a technical leader on shift, transferring knowledge to develop shift maintenance technicians through hands-on training and guidance.

• Documentation & Continuous Improvement: Create and update technical documentation, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Single Page Lessons, and red-line schematics.

Qualifications

Qualifications & What You Bring

 

• Experience & Education: High School Diploma (or equivalent) with 8+ years of verifiable work experience in mechanical drive trains and machine repair; OR an Associate Degree in Industrial Maintenance Technology, Journeyman certification, or Millwright certification with 4+ years of relevant experience.

• Technical Expertise: Strong working knowledge of bearing preloads, gear sets, and AC/DC drives.

• Core Competencies: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, root-cause investigation mindset, high attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and teamwork.

• Physical Requirements: Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs and willingness to work overtime when needed.

Preferred: Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, ISO standards, and computer maintenance management systems or Google Workspace tools.
