About this role
In light of our operational expansion and anticipated increase in activity in Texas, the recruitment of an on-site IT Engineer will help with the ramp up.
The Senior IT Engineer will be responsible for supporting critical IT initiatives such as Network upgrades, building and managing compute and storage clusters as well as providing essential on-vehicle technical assistance. Key responsibilities will include ensuring network stability, implementing security measures, automating system deployments, and offering dedicated support to the engineering and research teams. This strategic hire will help maintain operational efficiency and support the integration of advanced technologies within our expanding Texas operations.
You will:

Design and expand high-performance networks, computing, and storage.

Lead security initiatives and ensure compliance with security standards.

Oversee incident response planning and execution, ensuring timely and effective handling of security incidents.

Manage a fleet of linux servers including deployment, maintenance and upgrades.

Automate network and server deployments using Ansible, Terraform, etc.

Manage strict documentation of Network and Server infrastructure.

Work closely with Infrastructure, Compute, Support and Hardware teams

Coordinate closely with facility management to ensure HVAC, Cabling runs, UPS are functional.

Continuously look for opportunities to automate and improve systems.

You will be required to engage in physical activities with accommodation - lifting and moving material up to ~50 pounds.
Qualifications:

Excellent communication skills with a customer service mindset.

Experience building high performance compute clusters.

Experience developing and scaling highly available storage clusters.

Experience with container orchestration

Experience working with multiple cloud providers AWS, GCP, Azure etc.

Open-minded and collaborative team player with the willingness to take ownership.

Proven experience establishing and automating IT processes.

Proven experience setting up multi-site, high throughput, scalable networks.

Experience managing hybrid device environments (Mac, Windows, Linux).
