Senior Java Developer

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Java Developer based in India.

As a Senior Java Developer, you will help shape the next generation of a cloud-based SaaS platform powering mission-critical customer experience applications. You will design, build, and operate highly available and scalable microservices running on Google Cloud Platform. The role combines hands-on Java development with deep cloud, distributed systems, and platform engineering expertise. You will contribute to modernizing existing systems while helping introduce new capabilities, including AI-powered solutions for customer service. You will work closely with an experienced engineering team in a high-performance environment where ownership and technical problem-solving are highly valued. • Contribute to the development of the next generation of a SaaS platform, including AI-enabled capabilities designed to improve customer service and contact center experiences.
• Design, develop, test, maintain, and operate highly available, scalable, and reliable microservices.
• Apply expertise in cloud computing, software engineering, and open-source technologies to address complex platform and distributed-systems challenges.
• Develop a deep understanding of existing applications and systems while contributing to their ongoing architecture, modernization, and evolution.
• Build solutions that meet demanding requirements for availability, scalability, performance, security, and reliability.
• Provide production support by investigating incidents, troubleshooting issues, and analyzing the software stack to identify and resolve root causes.
• Collaborate with engineers and cross-functional peers in a high-performing team environment.
• Take ownership and accountability for technical deliverables throughout the development and operational lifecycle.
• Contribute to continuous improvement across development, deployment, testing, and cloud operations practices.

Requirements

• 6+ years of professional software development experience using Java and Spring Boot.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience working with public cloud platforms, with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) preferred; AWS or Azure experience is also relevant.
• Practical experience with containerization and orchestration technologies, particularly Docker and Kubernetes.
• Proven ability to design and build highly available, scalable, and reliable applications.
• Strong understanding of cloud architecture and design principles, virtualization, distributed systems, load balancing, networking, event processing, large-scale data storage, and security.
• Strong software engineering and problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate complex technical challenges and develop effective solutions.
• Experience working with production systems and troubleshooting issues across multiple layers of the technology stack.
• Ability to understand existing architectures and contribute effectively to modernization initiatives.
• Strong collaboration, communication, ownership, and accountability skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a distributed, multicultural, and high-performance engineering environment.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline is preferred.
• Hands-on experience with GCP services such as BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Cloud Functions, Pub/Sub, App Engine, and Cloud SQL is an advantage.
• Familiarity with Continuous Delivery practices covering development, testing, deployment, and management on GCP is desirable.
