Chemours is seeking a Senior Laboratory Technician to join our Titanium Technologies Ore Technology team at the Chemours Discovery Hub in Newark, DE! This position directly reports to the Lab Supervisor, and functional guidance will be provided by Principal Investigators managing laboratory programs.

As part of the group, this role is dedicated to the improvement of existing processes and the development of new processes and products related to TiO2 manufacturing. The research spans a variety of process technologies including neutralization, pressure filtration, drying, wet chemistry, etc.

The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Safely execute laboratory work involving pumping, weighing, mixing, and heating hazardous chemicals in chemical process experiments.
  • Assemble, operate, monitor, and troubleshoot lab-scale process equipment used for experiments with solids, liquids, and slurries.
  • Prepare samples and coordinate submissions to internal and external laboratories for additional testing and analysis.
  • Collect, organize, and maintain accurate records of data and observations for communication with the project team.

The following is required for this role:

  • High School Diploma or GED with +2 years relevant experience in a laboratory using chemicals
  • Hands-on chemistry or R&D lab experience requiring the safe handling of chemicals
  • Proficiency with computers, Microsoft applications, and related systems used for data capture and documentation.
  • Self-motivation with a strong sense of ownership of given tasks; ability to thrive in both independent and team-oriented environments
  • Ability to lift 45 lbs. and move containers using correct ergonomic methods.

The following is preferred for this role:

  • Experience in safe handling of corrosive chemicals
  • Previous experience with filtration, pH control, titrations, and other electrode-based measurements.
  • Flexibility and demonstrated ability to prioritize work in a multitasking environment
  • Mechanical skills

Pay Range (in local currency):

$29.40 - $45.94

Annual Bonus Target:
