Job Summary

This position is available inDLB’sMission Critical Department and focuses primarily on hyperscale data centers and related mission critical facilities.

TheSenior Lead Electrical Engineer, Mission Criticalwill have the opportunity to collaborate with all design staff and oversee full cycle electrical design activities for commercial building design and construction. This person will work as part of the Engineering Team and interact closely with organizational leadership to develop and edit projectspecifications and lead design development efforts.

TheSenior Lead Electrical Engineer, Mission Criticalwill be self-directed onday-to-daywork and independently performs most responsibilities.  Will lead project teams and projects of complex scope and broader programs.  Will coordinate activities of other personnel. Assistsin the development of policies and procedures.

TheSenior Lead Electrical Engineer, MissionCriticalwill communicate andoperatein line with organizational goals and values, as well as departmentalobjectives.

Essential Functions

LeadElectrical Engineering Design Activities (40%)

• Serve as the technical authority for complex mission critical electrical infrastructure projects.

• Establish design strategies supporting highly resilient electrical systems for hyperscale data centers and other mission critical environments.

• Provide technical oversight and quality assurance for engineering teams across multiple concurrent projects.

• Independently perform advanced engineering work

• Perform advanced electrical design tasks including development of electrical distribution systems and topologies, infrastructure and equipment layouts and selection / sizing of equipment from conceptual design through construction documents

• Provide direction to project engineers tofacilitatedevelopment electrical construction drawings and specifications

• Utilize AutoCAD and Revit software to prepare drawings and visual aids

• Review and / or prepare book or sheet specifications for electrical systems

• Develop and / or review sequence of operations

• Develop proposals including project scope,scheduleand budget

• Timely and effective management of project design team including resource forecasting and coordination

• Identifypotential project scope changes and aid in development of strategies to minimize impact and control deviations from estimated costs and project deadlines

• Perform QAQC peer reviews for projects where he or she is not the lead design engineer

LeadConstruction Activities (20%)

• Survey existing building conditions and prepares technical reports of findings

• Collect data and other information for construction documents

• Prepare project design and construction documents

• Lead the engineering team and interact closely with the project management team

• Review shop drawings and submittals

• Review and respond to RFIs

• Review and completepunchlistsand project closeout documents

• Review and approve change order requests

Manage Stakeholder Relations (20%)

• ​Responsible for execution of the firm’s client value system and assuring that the project is executedin accordance withcompany policies and standards

• Serve asprimaryclient contact for one or more clients. May act as a Client Program Manager with business development and marketing responsibilities.

• Build long-term relationships with hyperscale, enterprise, and mission critical clients while serving as a trusted technical advisor.

• Assistwith research for technical papers for conferences and journals

Organizational Development and Continuous Improvement of Policies and Procedures (20%)

• Mentor associates andassistswith training and development to create a learning and growing environment

• Contribute to organizational training and standards development

• Mayassistin the strategic planning for the group
