Senior Management Accountant (Client Facing)

Working with a diverse portfolio of clients, you'll go beyond traditional accounting by helping businesses improve their financial processes, reporting capabilities and overall performance. This is a client-facing role suited to someone who enjoys building relationships, solving problems and delivering practical outcomes.

About the team
You'll join a collaborative and high-performing team that works closely with business owners and decision-makers across a range of industries. The team combines strong technical expertise with a practical, solutions-focused approach to help clients improve financial visibility and make confident decisions.
You'll be supported by experienced Partners and Managers who take a genuine coaching approach and are committed to helping their people develop both technically and professionally.

Key responsibilities

• Review bookkeeping, payroll and transactional processing completed by junior team members
• Review BAS and IAS preparation
• Manage a portfolio of clients and respond to day-to-day queries
• Prepare management reports and financial analysis for clients
• Prepare budgets, forecasts and cashflow models
• Conduct regular client meetings to discuss business performance, key trends and improvement opportunities
• Analyse financial results and provide commercial insights to support decision-making
• Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, controls and reporting frameworks
• Support software selection, implementation and optimisation projects
• Assist clients to streamline and automate finance functions and workflows
• Mentor and support junior team members where required

About you

• At least 4 years' accounting experience, ideally within public practice, with exposure to both accounting and tax compliance services
• Experience managing a portfolio of small to medium-sized clients or stakeholders
• Strong management accounting, budgeting and forecasting capability
• Experience preparing and presenting management reports and business insights
• Strong client relationship and stakeholder management skills
• Degree qualified in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline
• CA or CPA qualification (or working towards) will be advantageous
• Experience with cloud-based accounting platforms such as Xero, MYOB, Hubdoc and Dext
• Experience with reporting and forecasting tools such as Fathom, Castaway Forecasting or Spotlight Reporting is highly regarded
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Comfortable learning and adopting new technologies and systems
• Ability to review work, follow established processes and support junior team members
