About Us

eJam is a consumer brand holding company that builds and scales category-leading brands across Amazon, direct-to-consumer, and national retail. This role leads product development for one of eJam's consumer brands, whose line includes sprays, controls, and devices.

The Role

We are hiring a full-time product development lead to own the new product pipeline end to end. That covers identifying what to build using marketplace and category data, making the case to the leadership team, and running development through outside formulators, overseas manufacturers, and regulatory counsel through to launch.

The pipeline is roughly half formulated products (sprays and controls) and half devices, at a pace of 10 or more new SKUs per year. Products are designed for Amazon first and must also be ready for retail.

Responsibilities

Category and opportunity

• Identify trending categories and whitespace using Helium 10, Jungle Scout, Keepa, search trend data, and competitor review analysis.
• Build the business case for each product, covering demand, competitive set, price point, landed cost, contribution margin, and launch plan.
• Present recommendations to the leadership team and maintain a prioritized product roadmap.

Development and sourcing

• Run a stage-gate process from concept through launch across 10 or more concurrent projects.
• Manage third-party formulators on sprays and controls, including briefs, iterations, stability testing, and efficacy testing.
• Source and manage overseas manufacturers for devices and imported raw materials, including RFQs, sampling, tooling, cost negotiation, pre-shipment inspection, and quality control.
• Own timelines, landed cost targets, and quality standards for every project.

Regulatory

• Work with outside counsel on 25(b) compliance, claims substantiation, and state registrations.
• Support expansion into EPA-registered products, including coordinating data requirements and registration timelines.

Launch and retail readiness

• Deliver launch-ready inputs for Amazon, including product specifications, claims, packaging, and creative briefs.
• Develop retail packaging, case pack configurations, UPC/GS1 setup, and item setup materials, and support buyer line reviews.
• Track post-launch performance (reviews, return rates, sell-through) and apply the findings to product iterations and future launches.

Requirements

• 5+ years in product development for physical consumer products, with a record of launching multiple SKUs per year.
• Direct experience launching products on Amazon, including hands-on use of marketplace research tools.
• Hands-on experience managing overseas factories, preferably in China or Southeast Asia.
• Experience with both formulated products and devices or hardware, or deep experience in one and working knowledge of the other.
• Experience bringing products into brick-and-mortar retail.
• Strong analytical skills. Advanced Excel is required; SQL is a plus.
• Proven ability to manage many projects and outside partners at once and hold them to deadlines.

Preferred

• Background in pest control, lawn and garden, cleaning, household chemicals, or pet.
• Familiarity with FIFRA 25(b) exemptions and EPA pesticide registration.
