About the Role

The Senior Manager of Public Relations is an integral part of Latham’s Brand & Communications team. This role will be responsible for developing strategic and proactive media relations campaigns that deliver high impact results, advancing the firm’s business goals, while proactively seeking media opportunities for profiling the firm, practice groups, and individual attorneys. This role will be located in our London office. Please note that this role is a 12 month fixed-term contract. This role may be eligible for a flexible working schedule that allows for a hybrid and in-office presence.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Other key responsibilities include:

• Managing proactive press outreach and reactive media, and being alert to issues that may arise
• Building and maintaining strong relationships with legal and business journalists, editors, and media outlets, connecting reporters to partners of the firm who serve as media sources
• Handling and running point on a variety of strategic profile-raising initiatives that involve strong messaging and creative writing skills, including media kits, talking points, statements, press releases, award submissions, survey responses, and other communication materials to ensure consistent and effective messaging
• Placing byline articles, and as appropriate, creating opportunities to leverage thought leadership for press commentary
• Contributing to leveraging the firm’s social media programs to support promoting the expertise and work of the practice

We’d love to hear from you if you:

• Exhibit knowledge of core public relations principles, including media, digital, communications, branding, market research, and competitive intelligence
• Demonstrate superior leadership skills (i.e., organising, planning, problem-solving and decision-making) necessary for effective management
• Possess excellent professional interpersonal skills and the ability to interact effectively with people at all organisational levels of the firm

And have:

• A bachelor's degree or equivalent in public relations, communications, business administration, or related field
• Relevant public relations experience at a PR agency or in-house, with a significant focus on press office responsibilities
• Experience and familiarity with the legal industry, preferably, and experience of navigating a complex global environment
