Senior Practitioner

Our client, an advisory company based in Malta is looking for a Sr Practitioner to join their team. This role is ideal for candidates who are looking to take a leadership role in a growing regulatory and fintech company.

This is a Hybrid role and offers a salary of up to €50K depending on experience.

Role & Responsibilities

• Provide advice on legal and regulatory matters related to: MiCA, CASPs crypto-assets, stable coins, e-money tokens, digital wallets, tokenisation, and blockchain infrastructures

• Structure and launch fintech projects within the EU regulatory framework

• Advise on MFSA licensing, regulatory compliance, prudential requirements, outsourcing, governance, and ongoing supervision for EMIs, PSPs, and CASPs.

• Draft and review regulatory documentation, manuals, policies, and internal controls.

• Manage and be the primary contact for a varied portfolio of clients across fintech, crypto, and regulated financial services

• Attend conferences, regulatory consultations, and industry initiatives

• Contribute to thought leadership through articles, seminars, webinars, and guidance notes

Education, Skills & Experience

• Qualified lawyer

• Previous experience as a senior practitioner within financial services and/or fintech in Malta

• Fluency in English at a C2/native level both written and spoken

• Strong knowledge of Maltese and EU financial services legislation

• Good understanding of MiCA, DORA, PSD2–PSD3, EMD, MiFID II, and related frameworks

• Experience engaging with regulatory bodies, notably the MFSA and FIAU

• Able to work independently and within a team

• Analytical with excellent problem-solving skills

• Confident in meeting client personally and able to explain technical information in an affective manner

• Keen interest in technological and financial innovation

• Proactive with a client first mind set
