We are seeking an experienced Senior Scientist with a proven record of sustained laboratory achievement and innovation. The selected candidate will provide lab support across various projects and teams; contribute to our shared mission of bringing new therapies to cancer patients.

• Independently lead analytical development and product characterization activities for one or more molecules in CMC development.
• Able to independently develop and optimize analytical methods to support early and late-stage development. Expected to solve challenging problems by application of one or more (traditional or emerging) analytical techniques.
• Independently design experiments, perform sample analysis using general laboratory techniques, such as weighing, pipetting, and operating laboratory instruments (HPLC, LC-MS, GC, UV-Vis, KF, DSC, TGA, XRPD, etc.).
• Execute analysis with a solid understanding of the test procedures, underlying science, and proper instrument operation, ensuring accurate and reliable results.
• Utilize available software to control instruments, collect data, process and calculate results, and prepare comprehensive reports.
• Maintain precise and comprehensive records of all analyses in a lab notebook in real time, ensuring compliance with company standards and promoting traceability and consistency in data reporting.
• Prepare presentation materials and clearly communicate research results to the manager, and present at internal meetings.
• Author/review technical reports, technical packages, and relevant sections in health authority filings.

Qualifications

• Requires a M.Sc. degree in chemistry with >8 years of relevant research experience, or a Ph.D. degree with a minimum of 3 years of hands-on pharmaceutical/biotech industry experience, or equivalent, in the field of new drug discovery and development.
• Hands-on experience with laboratory techniques, including chromatography (e.g., HPLC, GC, LC/MS), spectroscopy (e.g., UV-Vis, FTIR), titration methods (e.g., Karl Fischer, acid-base), dissolution testing, particle size analysis (by laser diffraction), microscopy, and other compendial methods.
• Experience using laboratory software to collect, analyze, and report data. This might include instrument control software (Openlab, Empower, etc.) or data analysis programs (Excel, etc.).
• A strong attention to detail and demonstrated prior experience working in GLP, cGMP environment.
• Demonstrated ability to take initiative, ownership, problem identification, problem solving and strategic input.
• Excellent communication and organization skills; ability to work independently and efficiently collaborate in a fast-paced, integrated, multidisciplinary team environment.
• Exceptional problem-solving skills, scientific curiosity, critical thinking, and ability to quickly adapt and shift focus as needed.
• Experience working in late-stage development or commercialization environments is preferred.
• Hands-on in-plant experience within a manufacturing or production setting is highly preferred.

Additional Information

The anticipated base salary for candidates who will work on-site at our South San Francisco location is between $75.00-$85.00/ per hour The final rate offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include, title, type and length of experience within the role, type and length of experience within the industry, education, geography, and other job-related factors. This position is not eligible for H-1B visa sponsorship.
