Join a team that empowers divisions across the Sustainability & Environment Cluster (SEC) to scope problems, run discovery, and build the confidence to conceptualise their own digital solutions.

Overall objectives of product and team:

The Tech Adoption team is a cross-divisional capability that helps SEC teams adopt new ways of working and problem-solving. The team guides stakeholders through structured discovery to properly scope problems and map operational workflows, then rapidly prototypes and tests concepts to validate solutions. The team partners with stakeholders to reach their own conclusions about what's needed and what's possible, with the objective to raise the digital quotient across SEC, building confidence and capability.

[What you will be working on]

• Lead service design engagements across SEC divisions, guiding stakeholders through discovery and problem definition

• Plan and conduct research to enable teams to better understand problem space

• Design and facilitate workshops that help stakeholders map user journeys, surface pain points, and identify opportunity spaces

• Triangulate insights using secondary research, data sources, and existing organisational knowledge

• Create quick prototypes to test solutions if necessary

• Coach stakeholders to develop their own thinking process about what is possible, enabling them to run independently over time

• Follow through to ensure recommendations are adopted by various teams

• Contribute to building reusable frameworks and tools that teams can adopt independently

[What we are looking for]

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Service Design, UX Design, HCI, or related field (or equivalent experience)

• At least 5 years of experience in service design, design research, or strategic design

• Strong instincts for discovery: knowing which research methods, data sources, and secondary research to draw on

• Experience with service design methods: journey mapping, blueprinting, stakeholder mapping, problem framing

• Strong facilitation skills: able to design and run workshops with diverse, non-design stakeholders

• Analytical rigour and attention to operational detail

• Proficiency in tools such as Figma, Miro or similar service mapping and prototyping tools

• Ability to define success metrics and guide teams in measuring service performance and follow through

• Strong facilitation and public speaking skills

• Demonstrated ability to influence and guide stakeholders towards better product outcomes

Will candidate be part of a team of designers?
Designers will have access to support and community from a team of designers within the cluster and shared resources, but are expected to lead and drive design within their own product team.
