About the position
At Ambrosys, we build data-driven systems for complex mobility and urban infrastructure challenges (B2B/B2G), including traffic insights, geolocation, tolling, and smart city solutions.
In this role, you’ll contribute to a real-time data platform for traffic insights, processing large-scale streaming data. You’ll work on production systems with real-world impact, collaborating closely with engineers and stakeholders in a low-bureaucracy, generalist environment.
What you will do:
- Design, build, and operate components of a real-time data platform (streaming pipelines, backend services, data products)
- Take ownership of well-defined services or components, including reliability, performance, and data quality
- Contribute across the stack (backend systems, data pipelines, domain-specific components)
- Collaborate with product and domain stakeholders to implement pragmatic technical solutions
- Contribute to engineering practices (testing, code reviews, incident learnings, delivery)
Your profile
What you bring
- Experience building production-grade software systems (typically 4–6+ years)
- Strong programming skills in Python and/or Java/Scala
- Experience with distributed systems (APIs, scalable services, async processing)
- Hands-on experience with streaming/data systems (e.g., Kafka, Flink)
- Solid approach to code quality, testing, and maintainability
- Comfortable working in cross-functional teams with engineers and stakeholders
- Ability to communicate technical concepts and trade-offs clearly in English and German
- Data correctness patterns (schemas/contracts, idempotency, backfills)
- Cloud-native environments (containers, orchestration, IaC)
- Mobility, geospatial, or regulated domain experience
- Experience using AI-assisted engineering tools
- Exposure to MLOps or data-driven systems in production
