Senior Specialist Engineer - Carbon Capture Technology

SLB Capturi is one of the leading companies globally that has extensive knowledge of the entire CCUS value chain. We have many ongoing projects, from research and innovation, including pilot plant testing, to concept studies and to large EPC projects, both in Europe and in the United States. Today, we are delivering seven carbon capture units in Europe, with an accumulated capture capacity of 1 million tonnes of CO2. In Denmark, we are delivering five Just Catch 100 units to Ørsted, in the Netherlands one Just Catch 100 unit to Twence, and in Norway a Big Catch to Heidelberg Materials.

What will you be doing?

As a leading specialist on carbon capture, you will be developing technology and new solutions for carbon capture and CO2-conditioning, and guide colleagues in implementation of the technology in studies, projects and product development.

Your Responsibilities

• Contribute to technology strategy, in collaboration with HoCT and CTO, that reflects the market needs and corporate strategy.
• Design, initiate and follow-up RD&I projects according to the corporate strategy and technology roadmap
• Contribute with expert advice and ensure that technical specifications and procedures associated with SLBC’s carbon capture technology have the necessary quality in projects and products
• Guide and train other technology specialist and engineers
• Interact with customers as part of business development and project execution
• Identify and assess patentable inventions related to ACC technology

Your qualifications

• MSc or PhD within Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or similar.

• Leading expertise in carbon capture technologies and in particularly amine-based post combustion capture and/or expertise in gas treatment including CO2 compression, CO2 liquefaction and CO2 handling
• Experience as technical lead in RD&I projects
• Experience from implementing research, development & innovation results into industrial applications
• Experience with process design, process plant operation and troubleshooting are considered an advantage
• Fluent in written and spoken English
