What You’ll Do

As the Service Manager, you’ll oversee the daily operations of the refurbishment center and lead a team responsible for rebuilding, repairing, and modernizing fire apparatus and emergency vehicles.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing shop workflow, scheduling, and project timelines
  • Leading and developing technicians, painters, fabricators, and support staff
  • Communicating directly with fire departments and customers throughout projects
  • Reviewing estimates, labor hours, and job progress
  • Ensuring work meets quality, safety, and OEM standards
  • Coordinating parts, vendors, and outside services
  • Preparing estimates, quotes, and project budgets.
  • Driving productivity, efficiency, and profitability within the shop
  • Creating a positive, accountable, team-oriented culture

What We’re Looking For

We’re seeking a hands-on leader with strong operational experience and the ability to motivate a team while maintaining excellent customer relationships.

Preferred qualifications include:

  • Experience managing heavy truck, fleet, collision, or fire apparatus service operations
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
  • Knowledge of heavy vehicle systems, fabrication, paint, and refurbishment processes
  • Experience with estimating, scheduling, and labor management
  • CDL preferred or willingness to obtain
  • EVT, ASE, or manufacturer certifications are a plus
