What You’ll Do
As the Service Manager, you’ll oversee the daily operations of the refurbishment center and lead a team responsible for rebuilding, repairing, and modernizing fire apparatus and emergency vehicles.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing shop workflow, scheduling, and project timelines
- Leading and developing technicians, painters, fabricators, and support staff
- Communicating directly with fire departments and customers throughout projects
- Reviewing estimates, labor hours, and job progress
- Ensuring work meets quality, safety, and OEM standards
- Coordinating parts, vendors, and outside services
- Preparing estimates, quotes, and project budgets.
- Driving productivity, efficiency, and profitability within the shop
- Creating a positive, accountable, team-oriented culture
What We’re Looking For
We’re seeking a hands-on leader with strong operational experience and the ability to motivate a team while maintaining excellent customer relationships.
Preferred qualifications include:
- Experience managing heavy truck, fleet, collision, or fire apparatus service operations
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
- Knowledge of heavy vehicle systems, fabrication, paint, and refurbishment processes
- Experience with estimating, scheduling, and labor management
- CDL preferred or willingness to obtain
- EVT, ASE, or manufacturer certifications are a plus
