We are looking for enthusiastic, compassionate and motivated individuals to join our team as Sessional Recovery Motivator across Central Lancashire. This flexible role provides an opportunity to support people affected by drug and alcohol misuse while gaining valuable experience within a recovery-focused service.

Contract Type: Sessional

Hours: 0 hours, as required by the service. No guaranteed hours

Service: Central Lancashire Drug & Alcohol Recovery ServiceLocations: Preston, Chorley and Skelmersdale

Responsibilities

About the Role

Recovery Motivators play a vital role in engaging and supporting individuals, families and communities affected by substance misuse. Drawing on lived experience, you will inspire hope, encourage engagement with services and help people access the support they need to move forward in their recovery journey.

This is a sessional worker position, offering work on an as-needed basis. There are no fixed days or guaranteed hours, providing flexibility around your availability and service requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide a welcoming and supportive presence within service and community settings.
• Build positive relationships with service users, families, carers and local communities.
• Use your lived experience to motivate and inspire others in recovery.
• Signpost individuals to appropriate treatment, recovery and community support services.
• Support the development of peer support and mutual aid opportunities.
• Engage with individuals who may not currently access mainstream services.
• Promote recovery, wellbeing and community integration.
• Attend training, meetings and supervision as rrquired.
• Maintain accurate records and work in accordance with safeguarding policies and professional boundaries.

About You

We are looking for candidates who can demonstrate:

• Lived experience of drug and/or alcohol misuse.
• A strong commitment to supporting others in their recovery journey.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• A non-judgemental, empathetic and resilient approach.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good organisational and administrative skills.
• An understanding of equality, diversity and inclusion.
• Flexibility to work across Pendle, Burnley and Hyndburn.

Desirable

• Knowledge of local recovery services, community assets and support networks within East Lancashire.
