Sheet Metal Fabricator Apprentice

Job Summary

The Sheet Metal Apprentice supports the fabrication team by learning and performing basic sheet metal fabrication tasks while developing the skills necessary to become a skilled fabricator. This role assists with material preparation, equipment operation, shop organization, and quality control while working under the guidance of experienced fabricators.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the fabrication of ductwork and sheet metal components
• Learn to read shop drawings and blueprints
• Measure, cut, and prepare materials for fabrication
• Operate basic shop tools and equipment safely
• Maintain a clean and organized work area
• Support inventory and material handling activities
• Follow all safety policies and procedures
• Demonstrate a willingness to learn and develop technical skills

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Trade school or shop experience is a plus, but not required
• Mechanical aptitude and ability to read a tape measure
• Strong work ethic and desire to learn a skilled trade
• Ability to lift 50 pounds and work in a shop environment
