Silicon Architect, Wireless Protocols & Algorithms
AI Summary
Architect duties include designing custom wireless protocols and waveforms, mapping algorithms to hardware, and validating performance in simulated and real environments; focuses on jamming resistance and RF threat scenarios.
About this role
About Sine Engineering
Sine Engineering is a leading global company specializing in the development of advanced radio communication and navigation systems. We design and build mission‑critical infrastructure for the multi‑million‑drone era.
At Sine, you will work with cutting‑edge technologies tested in some of the world’s most challenging environments, with the opportunity to see your ideas evolve into an ecosystem that contributes to global safety and progress.
We are looking for a Wireless Protocol & Algorithms Architect to design next‑generation custom radio protocols and algorithms from the ground up. You will work alongside an exceptional team of engineers, shaping the waveforms, modems, and signal processing chains that power resilient, jamming‑resistant wireless links - and feeding those designs directly into custom Radio System‑on‑Chip (SoC) development. Multiple positions are open and will be filled on a rolling basis.
Responsibilities
Design custom wireless protocols and waveforms with a strong focus on resilience against jamming, interception, and contested RF environments (LPI/LPD, frequency hopping, spread spectrum, adaptive techniques, beamforming)
Architect, specify, and optimize the modem baseband and transceiver signal chain for custom radio systems
Contribute to translating algorithmic designs into SoC‑implementable specifications, including fixed‑point analysis and HW/SW partitioning
Build reference models and simulation environments (MATLAB / Python / C++) to validate protocol and algorithm performance under realistic channel and threat conditions
Drive performance analysis and link‑level studies - including throughput, latency, range, robustness, and power consumption
Collaborate closely with SoC architects, RF, digital design, software, and system modeling teams across the full development lifecycle - from concept through silicon bring‑up to field validation
Skills & Experience
5+ years of experience in wireless algorithm design, modem architecture, or PHY‑layer R&D
Strong background in digital communications: modulation, coding, synchronization, equalization, and multi‑antenna techniques
Solid understanding of fixed‑point implementation, complexity analysis, and translating algorithms into hardware‑friendly specifications
Knowledge of RF requirements and constraints (e.g., transceivers and analog beamforming)
Proficiency in MATLAB, Python, or C++ for modeling, simulation, and performance analysis
English proficiency at B1 level or higher
Nice to Have
Experience with anti‑jamming, LPI/LPD, or electronic warfare‑resilient communication systems
Background in IoT or cellular wireless communications
Experience with beamforming, phased arrays, or hybrid beamforming architectures
Experience applying ML/AI to physical‑layer signal processing
Knowledge of cryptography and secure waveform design
Experience in defense or dual‑use systems
Experience with field testing of RF communication systems
