About us Swindon Borough Council is committed to delivering high‑quality services that improve the lives of children and families. We use the Family Safeguarding Model, a multi‑disciplinary approach introduced in 2022, bringing together social workers, domestic abuse practitioners, recovery workers and mental health specialists to support whole‑family needs. We also offer a strong ASYE programme through our Social Care & Leadership Academy, promoting learning, development and manageable caseloads.
About the role They are recruiting Qualified, Experienced and Advanced Social Workers to join our Assessment & Child Protection Team. The service is structured into five PODs, each led by an Assistant Team Manager. Social workers complete statutory assessments, child protection enquiries and develop plans that ensure smooth transitions for children requiring ongoing support. You’ll join a supportive, reflective team with high aspirations for children and access to regular supervision and training.
About you You must hold a Social Work degree or diploma, be registered with Social Work England, and have experience working collaboratively with children, families and partner agencies. We’re looking for motivated, ambitious practitioners who want to contribute to continuous improvement and high‑quality safeguarding practice.
