S:US Is seeking a Social Worker for their mens shelter in Brooklyn.
This position is located at Ralph Avenue Brooklyn, NY 11208.
SCOPE OF THE ROLE:
The Social Worker will be responsible for the overall delivery and coordination of services for homeless clients. The Social Worker is responsible for interfacing with the New York City Department of Homeless Services Staff, Shelter providers and relevant community‐based organizations to enhance and ensure clients are in receipt of optimal care and service coordination; be responsible for the completion of psychosocial assessments impacted by multiple systems. Assess clients’ needs and facilitate appropriate linkages to community‐based services. Work within a crisis driven environment with a knowledge base of substance abuse and addiction, domestic violence, trauma, and mental health conditions.
Qualifications
- Current licensure ‐ LMSW or LMHC ( LIMITED PERMIT may be considered)
- Master’s in social work or equivalent
- Knowledge of emotional/behavioral health; mental health and diagnostic classification
- Strong expertise in strengths‐based, solution‐focused, and family‐centered practice.
- Knowledge of guidelines, policies and regulations relating to child welfare, safety, permanency and well‐being.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multi‐disciplinary team, to assist individuals of diverse ethnicities, backgrounds, ages, and sexual preferences.
Preferred Qualifications & Skills
- Bilingual candidates preferred but not required
