Software Developer

RMC is seeking a .NET / Software Developer to support our customer 100% on-site in Dahlgren, Virginia. The selected candidate will develop and maintain software solutions in a Department of Defense environment, contributing throughout the software development lifecycle—from translating customer requirements into functional solutions to testing, troubleshooting, and ongoing support. This role is well suited to a detail-oriented developer with strong software life cycle management experience and an interest in building reliable applications for mission-focused users.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, configure, and maintain software functionality based on customer requirements.
• Contribute to the full software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
• Develop and support applications using .NET technologies and modern front-end frameworks.
• Troubleshoot and debug applications, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions.
• Apply modern application architecture, responsive design, and user experience principles.
• Work within a DoD environment and support development activities using a DevSecOps pipeline.
• Use source control, participate in code reviews, and contribute to automated testing and CI/CD practices.
• Collaborate with customers and team members using Agile/Scrum processes.
• Support SharePoint-based solutions, as needed.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Three to seven years of experience with software development technologies such as:
• .NET Core and/or .NET Framework
• C#
• Entity Framework
• SQL
• RESTful APIs and web services
• Angular or another modern front-end framework, such as React or Vue
• Angular Material or a comparable UI/CSS framework
• Experience developing and supporting applications hosted on Linux or Windows systems.
• Experience with modern application architecture, responsive design, and user experience principles.
• Experience with source control tools such as Git, code reviews, automated testing, and CI/CD practices.
• Ability to work in a DoD environment and support development within a DevSecOps pipeline.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, and troubleshooting ability.
• Ability to understand customer needs and translate requirements into software functionality.
• DoD 8570/8140 IAT Level II certification (e.g., Security+ CE, CCNA Security, etc.) required at time application is submitted.

Clearance Requirements

An Interim DoD Secret clearance is required to start. The selected candidate must be able to obtain a Top Secret clearance and meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Employment is contingent upon successfully meeting applicable security investigation and clearance requirements.

Salary at RMC is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, a candidate's specific combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific requirements. The current salary range for this position will be $110,000 to $150,000 (annually).
