Join Guidewire as a Software Engineer II, Application Platform - AI Services, and be part of the team building our next-generation AI platform. This platform provides the essential tools to design AI agents, to connect to large language models, and manage the knowledge bases that power modern, intelligent insurance applications. You will be a contributor on this platform, using AI coding tools to build services that power developer experience, ensuring quality, scalability, and security. This is an onsite, full-time role based in the United States.

You will contribute to delivering operational excellence and transformative innovation for Guidewire's Product Development & Operations (PDO) organization. Our priorities include accelerating AI, cloud, and data platform adoption, and ensuring our solutions deliver measurable value and efficiency for customers. Job Description

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain features for Guidewire's application platform, primarily focusing on backend services.
• Apply agentic coding tools as Guidewire uses them to dramatically accelerate development.
• Write clean, well-tested code with attention to quality and security.
• Collaborate with team members to deliver secure, scalable, and efficient platform operations.
• Participate in code reviews and learn from team best practices.

Required Qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience in backend software engineering, with experience building web services or applications.
• Experience with coding agents and automation tools.
• Familiarity with one of Java, JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, with willingness to learn other languages.
• Familiarity with Large Language Models (LLMs), Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), vector databases (vector DBs), AI agents, and Model Context Protocol (MCP).
• Good collaboration and communication skills.
• Familiarity with or willingness to learn Kubernetes and infrastructure as code.
• Demonstrated ability to embrace AI and apply it to your role as well as use data-driven insights to drive innovation, productivity, and continuous improvement.


The US base salary range for this full-time position is $109,000 - $186,000. Your base pay will depend on your experience, skills, education, training, and location among other factors. All full-time positions or part-time roles working 30 hours or more a week at Guidewire are eligible for benefits that support their health and well-being including health, dental, and vision insurance, paid time off, and a company sponsored retirement plan. In addition, some roles may be eligible for the annual company bonus plan, commissions, and/or long term incentive awards which are contingent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, company and employee performance.
