Software Stack / Framework Engineer
AI Summary
Software Stack / Framework Engineer focused on bridging classical computing with quantum architectures. Designs, implements, and optimizes the software stack to access the Equal1 QPU, from low-level gate libraries to high-level developer frameworks.
About this role
Equal1 is building the world’s first practical, fully integrated quantum computer. In Timișoara, we are expanding our engineering team with talented young engineers who want to shape the software foundations of quantum computing.
We are looking for a Software Stack / Framework Engineer who is passionate about bridging classical computing with next-generation quantum architectures in hybrid architectures. You will help design, implement, and optimize the software layers that make the Equal1 QPU accessible, fast, and scalable, from low-level gate libraries to high-level developer frameworks.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Develop and maintain the software stack that interfaces with Equal1’s silicon-based QPU.
Build tools, APIs, and frameworks that enable researchers and customers to run quantum programs efficiently.
Collaborate with hardware, algorithms, and control teams to design hybrid classical–quantum workflows.
Optimize middleware, compilers, and library components for performance and reliability.
Contribute to continuous integration, testing, and system-level validation.
Experience and Qualifications
Strong programming skills (Python, C/C++, or similar).
Solid understanding of computer architecture, embedded systems, compilers, or distributed systems.
Knowledge of LLVM / MLIR compiler infrastructure or compilation strategies is a plus
Familiarity with quantum computing concepts (gate models, qubits, noise) is a plus—deep expertise is not required.
Curiosity, creativity, and the ability to work across classical and quantum paradigms.
Desire to grow long-term in an emerging, cutting-edge field.
